hey guys, i hope you are all enjoying the new single! i love you all for downloading and listening to it. seriously, it means the world to me. now, let’s try something interesting.
“suburban heart” is nearing completion and will be out in just a few short weeks. as i’m sure some of you have noticed, the all-about fanbase is mighty, but small. so, let’s generate some buzz!
here’s the deal. if you send me proof that you have helped to promote “whatever, happy birthday” in some way, i will personally send you an mp3 of another song from the new record, unheard by anybody until now!
some possibilites:
- compose a facebook status/tumblr post/tweet linking to “whatever, happy birthday”
- email “whatever, happy birthday” to your mom (sample subject line to get her attention: “mom your lasagna is better than grandma’s!”)
- seek out a friend/acquaintance/ex-lover/stranger that you think might like the all-about, and personally send them “whatever, happy birthday”
- figure out what vine is and then do whatever vine users do with vine
- send a festive e-card to your coworkers/classmates
email a screenshot of your guerilla promotional tactic to theallaboutcarrieson@gmail.com and i will respond with a link to a brand new tune!
♥,
zac
Hey guys!

Hello, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2012 was a great year for The All-About. I put out Winterpop in January, and have been working slowly to legitimize this project all year. In December, some friends from Mama Coco’s Funky Kitchen helped put together the first ever live All-About gig (video evidence here and here), and we’re currently in the middle of recording a new album called “Suburban Heart” that I could not be more excited to share with all of you come Spring.
The way it’s shaping up, 2013 could be even better. A new record, real merch, summer shows—it’s going to be fun. Thanks for listening and I hope you’ll stick with us!
To keep up with The All-About more efficiently, please consider “liking” us on Facebook or worse, following me on Twitter.
Enjoy your January 1st, y’all.

This is a new song. On Monday, we’ll begin recording the new album, “Suburban Heart” at Mama Coco’s Funky Kitchen. This tune was actually written more recently than anything that’s going to be on that album, but I thought it would be fun to release it as its own thing. I needed a reason to stop obsessing over the “Suburban Heart” material for a bit, and this was it.
Enjoy!
The All-About - Synth Kid EP
A “new” EP of some goofy, synthy Winterpop demos that didn’t quite fit with the rest of the album. I’m still fond of them and figured it was about time to set them free. The sonic quality of these recordings doesn’t match the sounds we got at Mama Coco’s for Winterpop, but these tunes have their own personality and I thought it might be fun for some people to hear them.
Before you ask, yes, I am aware of how bad “Big Ideas” is.
Also, I wrote “Johnny & June” before I heard First Aid Kit’s “Emmylou.”
